Today, CES 2017 kicks off in Las Vegas as tech innovators, enthusiasts, and consumers, along with policy makers and the media watch to see what next big thing is going to change our lives. The premier launch event for new technology and innovation, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association, is celebrating its 50th anniversary and serves as a reminder of how much more prevalent technology is in our lives today than it was five decades ago. Just as new innovations test our creativity and our wildest expectations – from sleep technology to digital health to virtual reality – they also test our nation’s copyright laws as they try to keep up.
In honor of CES 2017 and the milestone anniversary, Re:Create developed an infographic to help attendees and those following the event in Las Vegas understand just how important the principle of fair use is to our ability to experience the latest technology has to offer.
This is the fifth in our series of “Day in the Life” fair use infographics to help break down the important role it plays in our daily lives, especially in this digital age.
